Project At a Glance

Improvements include:

  • Expanded public meeting spaces

  • Larger areas for children and teens

  • ADA-compliant

  • LEED-certified green building

  • More study spaces

  • Located on the "slope" behind the current location of the Library & Town Offices, the building will create a campus like setting for all Town buildings. The ball fields and sledding hill are not affected.

  • The architect's estimate of the cost is $13.1M including adjustments for inflation. An MBLC grant will cover approximately 47% to bring the cost to the town to approximately $7M.

  • The Library Trustees have been fundraising through their annual drive to offset the cost.

  • In addition, a fundraising committee is being formed in conjunction with the Friends of the Reuben Hoar Library. For more information, contact the Friends of the RHL or RHL Capital Campaign
